Available on selected weekday departures (Monday – Thursday only), the Midweek Sunrise Escape offers guests the opportunity to enjoy the timeless magic of hot air ballooning in a more intimate and personalised setting.

With only the pilot and two passengers on board, this exclusive flight experience is ideal for romantic celebrations, milestone moments, proposals, anniversaries and memorable midweek escapes.

Please note that private balloon departures:

• are subject to availability
• are subject to the combined weight of the passengers
• remain subject to the legal loading capacity of the balloon and prevailing flight conditions

Our reservations team will advise whether the exclusive private balloon can accommodate the passengers booked, or whether a shared sunrise balloon safari is recommended instead.

Gather your family, friends or celebration group for a shared sunrise balloon safari experience above the Magalies River Valley and create memories that will be spoken about long after the flight has ended.

Whether celebrating a birthday, reunion, anniversary or weekend getaway, the Group Celebration Offer allows guests to experience the wonder of hot air ballooning together while enjoying the timeless traditions that have made Bill Harrop’s “Original” Balloon Safaris one of South Africa’s most iconic aviation experiences.

Applicable to 4 Adult passengers only in a single reservation; children (below 12 years old) passengers do not apply.

Terms and Conditions

Birthday Bash Celebration Terms & Conditions:

1. The Birthday Bash Special is valid for new reservations only and is subject to availability.
2. The Group Celebration Package is valid for 4 adults only.  Must book as a single reservation with a single payment processed (no split bookings and payment accepted).
3. Flight is sharing with other passengers (non-exclusive).
4. The promotional rate applies only to the selected Birthday Bash Celebration and travel dates as advertised.
5. Birthday Bash Celebration is valid for all flight tickets booked and paid before 3 August 2026.
6. Tickets are valid for 12 months from the date of issue (date of purchase).
7. Full pre-payment is required to secure and confirm the reservation.
8. Reservations are only confirmed once proof of payment has been received and/or cleared funds reflect in our bank account.
9. The Birthday Bash Celebration flight tickets are non-refundable after payment has been made. Refund policy is only applicable in the event of cancellation by the operator due to unsafe flying conditions.
10. Hot air balloon flights are entirely weather dependent and operate strictly at the discretion of the pilot.
11. The celebration flight tickets may not be used in conjunction with any other promotion, voucher, discount, prize, agent rate, barter agreement, or special offer.
12. Open-dated vouchers issued under the Birthday Bash Celebration must be redeemed within the validity period stated at the time of purchase.
13. Standard passenger restrictions apply:

• Children must be older than 7 years old and taller than 1.3 metres in height.
• Passengers must be able to stand for the duration of the flight and climb in and out of the balloon basket with minimal assistance.
• Pregnant passengers are unfortunately not permitted to fly.

11. Flight times, launch sites, and operational arrangements remain subject to weather conditions, air traffic control requirements, and operational considerations.
12. Bill Harrop’s “Original” Balloon Safaris reserves the right to amend or withdraw the Birthday Bash Special without prior notice.
13. By confirming the reservation, passengers acknowledge and accept all standard flight Terms & Conditions as applicable to Bill Harrop’s “Original” Balloon Safaris.
